Because of Unai Emery, Arsenal lost their identity

Martin Keown assesses Arsenal have lost their identity attacking game under Unai Emery. He also believes the Spanish manager is not the right person for the Gunners.

Emery is currently under pressure after a poor start to the season. The Gunners have only won twice in their last ten Premier League matches.

The north London club sits sixth in the Premier League standings. However, they are eight points adrift of the fourth position occupied by Manchester City.

Fans have urged Emery to immediately leave the club. Nevertheless, the Spanish manager still has the support of club leaders.

Loss of Identity
Keown questioned the choice of tactics that Emery applied at Arsenal. Because the playing style of attacking the Gunners under the direction of Arsene Wenger is no longer visible.

"We have lost the football Arsenal have, the beautiful football they played under Arsene Wenger," Keown said on talkSPORT.

"We lost our identity and we have to get it back very quickly."

Not the right person
Club chairman Raul Sanllehi and managing director Vinai Venkatesham insist Emery remains the right person for Arsenal. However, Keown thinks otherwise.

"Only time will tell, but at the moment it looks like, 'no'. That doesn't look right, "he said.
