Spanish boss lifts his hat to Ciamik Santi Cazorla's performance

A compliment was given by Robert Moreno to Santi Cazorla. The Spain national team coach said the playmaker appeared extraordinary when facing Malta early this morning.

As you well know, the last four years, Cazorla was absent from the Spanish national team. Endless injuries made him fail to defend La Furia Roja's squad until last May, when Robert Moreno called him back to the Spanish national team.

Earlier today, the former Arsenal player was believed to be a starter against Malta. The 34-year-old did not waste the opportunity, where he scored one goal in Spain's 7-0 win over Malta.

Moreno himself claimed to be impressed with Cazorla's appearance in that match. "What Santi showed today is truly extraordinary," Moreno told UEFA's official website.

Rising from Injury
Moreno on this occasion praised the mental steel of Cazorla who managed to rise from a severe injury.

He considered only a few players who managed to get up after suffering a prolonged injury.

"After what he went through for three years with a very severe injury, he managed to play extraordinary. Without the presence of players like him, Raul [Albiol] and Sergio [Ramos] will be difficult to win the semifinals or finals of a tournament."

Praise Spanish Performance
On this occasion, Moreno also praised the performance of foster children in the face of Malta early this morning.

He considered La Furia Roja's troops continued to appear aggressive despite being superior with a sizable score.

"Actually it's easy for our players to reduce their performance when they are 3-0 or 4-0 up. But they managed to win with seven goals and could have won with 10 goals, so I feel happy with their mentality." he stressed.

Last match
The Spanish national team will play their last match in Euro 2020 qualifiers on 19 November.

They will face Romania at Wanda Metropolitano.
